This is great! I read the book it's based on, Bryson's
A Short History of Nearly Everything
, several years ago, and this one takes the feel of the other book and condenses it into an illustrated kid-friendly tome. The drawings are reminiscent of the mammoth-machines in
The Way Things Work
by David MacAulay; very cartoonish but informative.
Highly recommend.
Requested it from the library! Thanks for the tip. :)
ReplyDeleteYay, science!
ReplyDeleteHa!!! I was JUST looking at this day before yesterday! Online, I mean, don't have it in hand yet. Haven't read the original. Looks like one my gang will enjoy. Thanks for the review.
